Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN)

Female nursing student working on a practice patient

Employers Value What You Can Do

That’s why we take a unique abilities-based approach to learning — one that measures what you can do as well as what you know. Through hands-on experiences, you’ll develop advanced clinical knowledge and leadership and advocacy capabilities. You’ll graduate prepared to treat patients, lead care teams, and promote well-being for all.

When you graduate from Alverno’s DEMSN program, you will hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) - this unique program confers both. Hospitals and care centers often encourage hiring DEMSN graduates because they highly value non-nursing work experience for the diversity and compassion it can bring to a care setting.
